Both qualified teams, Pioneros and Obras now compete for hosting bid

Pioneros de Quintana Roo of Mexico and Obras Sanitarias of Argentina, already qualified to the Final Four of the 2012 FIBA Americas League, have said they will seek to host the final round, which due to the bidding process has been rescheduled to be played in April 27 to 29. FIBA Americas confirmed this afternoon that Pioneros de Quintana Roo of Mexico and Obras Sanitarias of Argentina, both teams qualified this weekend for the Final Four of the League of the Americas, have expressed interest in organizing the last run of this fifth edition of the premier club competition on the continent. Yesterday, the club president of Obras Sanitarias, Mr. Fabian Borro publicly expressed his intention to host as he declared that "I will ask the organization of the Final Four of the League of the Americas, FIBA Americas," after his team defeated the Bucaneros de La Guaira of Venezuela and qualified to the final. The organization of Pioneros of Quintana Roo, represented by its General Manager, Mr. Wilberth Flores, has also made public their interest to host the final round and it was confirmed yesterday with the Pioneros victory against Itabom / Bauru of Brazil, in which the Mexican club got their spot in the championship round. In addition, the Brazilian club of Uniceub BRB has also said they would be interested in being host if the team advances in its semifinal run, to be played from April 13 to 15 in Caracas, Venezuela. The basis for bid is 150 thousand U.S. dollars.
